Quinte Red Devils Weekend Report
Posted Feb 2, 2012 By EMC NewsEMC Sports - On Saturday, January 28, the One to One Fitness Atoms took on the first-place Whitby Wildcats at the Wally Dever Arena. The Red Devils took a 2 -1 lead late into the third period when Whitby tied it up at two. That is the way the score stood after three periods for a 2 -2 draw. Quinte goals came from Eric Conlon and Cameron Supryka. Keegan Hunt had two assists while the others came from Landon McLellan and Zach Uens. Ethan Taylor was between the pipes.
On Sunday afternoon, they played their third game of a three-game home stand. The York Simcoe Express got on the board early but Quinte came back to take a 3 -2 win. Keegan Hunt, Daniel Panetta and Cole Leal scored the goals for the Red Devils. Assists came from Emmet Pierce, Zach Uens, Eric Conlon, Landon McLellan and Dalton Bancroft. Goaltending duties went to Mark Rosatte.
Earlier in the week they played host to the Peterborough Junior Petes at the Quinte Centre. The Petes came out strong for the first period and half but Quinte fought back hard and won 5 -2. Quinte goals came from Landon McLellan, Zach Uens, Jake Campbell, Cameron Supryka and Dalton Bancroft. Assists came from Bancroft, Uens, Keegan Hunt, Derrick Vos, Ryan Kirkpatrick, Cole Leal and Eric Conlon. Mark Rosatte was in goal.
Cornerstone Builders The Cornerstone Builders Peewees took care of the Clarington Toros with a decisive 6 -0 victory, after a 2 -2 draw earlier in the week in Oshawa. Scoring for the Devils against the Toros were Scoley Dow, Ryan Fraser, Brady Gilmour, Dominic Della Civita, Nick Hoey and Shelby Rienstra. Assists went to Jake Wilson (3), Gilmour (2), Mackenzie Warren, Matthew Panetta, and Hoey. Jett Alexander posted the shutout for Quinte.
In Oshawa, Nick Hoey scored both goals, with Ryan Fraser (2) and Dominic Della Civita earning assists. Anthony Popovich handled the goaltending duties. The Peewees have their final regular season game on February 11 in Clarington.

Last weekend, the Minor Bantams prevailed against Kingston in a home game, by a score of 5 -1. Goals came from Nick Salt (assisted Greg Thomas), Cody Smith (assisted Colin Doyle), Colin Doyle (assisted Austin Labelle), and Austin Labelle (2) (assisted Matt Bruinsma). Jack Moore was in net for the Devils.
The Minor Bantams travelled to Whitby on Sunday. The boys played hard and the score was a close 3 -1 for the Wildcats with Brodie Maracle scoring for the Devils. Sheldon Calbury was strong in net for the Red and Black.
McInroy Maines Construction
The McInroy Maines Construction Minor Midgets were defeated 5 -3 this past weekend by a very tough York Simcoe Express team. Quinte was up 2 -1 late in the second period when YSE exploded for three straight goals in a three-minute span. The Devils scored with under a minute to go in the game to pull within one. However, York Simcoe added an empty net goal to finish the game. Jacob Panetta, TJ Patterson, and Matt Trudel scored Quinte's goals. Assists went to Josh Maguire, Riley Steeves, Mason Conley and Grant Fry. Josh Lasher was strong between the pipes facing 37 shots. The Minor Midgets have four games left to try and secure a play-off spot. Next up is Oshawa this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Clarington Sunday at 2:30 p.m., both at the new Rink A in Belleville.
Foley Bus Lines
The Major Midget Quinte Red Devils add a win and a tie to their record. Tuesday the Devils travelled to Kingston to face off with the Frontenacs. Kingston started the scoring late in the second but Quinte answered with one second before the buzzer and again midway through the third to win 2 -1. Quinte goals scored by Kenny Turcotte and Curtis Colbary, assisted by Hunter Fargey, Karl Francoeur, Braeden Walsh and Tim Pandachuck. Cole Mahoney was solid between the pipes for Quinte.
Sunday afternoon, Quinte matched up with the Central Ontario Wolves and came away with a 3 -3 tie. Goals were scored by Fargey, Mitchell Murphy and Turcotte, assisted by Derek Shields, Mitchell Smith, Colbary, Mitchell Pearce and Geoffrey Cleminson. Amos Lloyd made many key saves for the tie.
Two regular season games remain, Friday, February 3, 8 p.m. at the RCAF Arena versus Central and Sunday, February 5, 4 p.m. versus York Simcoe.
